On Sunday November 5, 2017, ·a historic meeting occurred when Grand Master A .H. Dusty Parsons, of Tennessee Masons, met with Grand Master William F. Culbertson, Sr., of Tennessee
Odd Fellows, at the Scottish Rite Temple in Knoxville, TN. The two orders
are the oldest active fraternal organizations in the USA. St John’s Masonic
Lodge in Boston was chartered in 1733, and the Odd Fellows will celebrate
their 200th anniversary in the US on April 26, 2019.
It is very rare that both leaders of these fraternal Orders have the opportunity of meeting each other, but history was made in Knoxville, TN.
Both grand masters are Knight Commanders of the Court of Honour in
the Scottish Rite and were attending the Honors Day, where nine members of the Valley of Knoxville received their KCCH and 33° caps. In
parting they exchanged good fraternal wishes to each other and hoped
more citizens will want to join their ranks to make a better world in
which to live.
